dc.description.abstractLa trama del libretto, scritto in stile operistico, è ambientata in epoca napoleonica e coinvolge un triangolo amoroso tra studenti che lavorano segretamente in clandestinità per la liberazione di una Germania allora occupata dalla Francia. Nel comporre la musica, Franchetti ha citato ampiamente le canzoni popolari tedesche e studentesche ed i lavori di diversi compositori tedeschi per creare un colore tedesco al suo lavoro.en_GB
