Female offenders, although they form a part of rising population within prison, they still remain a minority within that context. Early literature focused solely on male offenders, their pathways and their needs. Therefore, the aim of this study was to explore gender differences within an offending population, from the perspective of professionals. This study utilised a qualitative approach. After gaining consent from the Faculty Research Ethics Committee (FREC), the participants were gathered by purposive sampling. Four participants were recruited, most of which were from Corradino Correctional Facility. However, due to limited professionals working within that field, any demographics will not be disclosed. After the interviews were conducted, they were transcribed. The data indicates that, overall, male and female offender have similar risk factors and motivation towards crime. However, there is a difference between the types of crimes they tend to commit. In terms of therapeutic interventions, both genders receive similar treatment; with females more emphasis on trauma.en_GB
