dc.description.abstractLa vestale (La Vestale) è un'opera del compositore italiano Saverio Mercadante. Si presenta sotto forma di una tragedia lirica in tre atti. Il libretto, di Salvadore Cammarano, è stato influenzato dal libretto di Victor-Joseph Étienne de Jouy per la più famosa opera omonima di Spontini del 1807. La prima rappresentazione dell'opera ebbe luogo al Teatro San Carlo di Napoli il 10 marzo 1840.en_GB
