Abstract: Zorilla is a jocose melodrama in three acts of Antonio Nani composed on the libretto of Almerindo Spadetta. Zorilla was premiered in Naples in 1872; the premier performance in Malta took place on 18 January 1874.
The story in this opera takes place in a Prussian village in the year 1814 during the first Napoleonic Empire. The plot of this opera is the story of a love triangle between Zorilla, the owner of an inn, her lover Silvio, Tibullo the village teacher and Marcello the seargent.
