Abstract: Valid knowledge can only be attained through the methods of the natural sciences and hence no knowledge is genuine unless it is based on generally observable facts. This is what Positivism is about. The error in Positivism, if it is so, is not in science but in the philosophy that endorses this function of science. One can understand the attractive power of the progressive growth of the natural sciences.
