Abstract: The National Orchestra of Malta (AKA the Manoel Theatre Orchestra) and L-Qawwa ta' l-Art ta' Malta present the programme for a musico-literary event produced by Charles Abela Mizzi, and held in remembrance of the Great Siege, the Second World War, and Malta's Independence Day. The musical part of the event, which was conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut, also featured the participation of members of the Maltese police force, the Paola Pageant Group, and the abbots of the Raħal Ġdid parish church, as well as soprano singer Antoinette Miggiani. The event featured readings of Dun Karm's, Ġorġ Pisani's, Anton Buttigieg's and Rużar Briffa's written works, as well as the musical works of Antonio Nani, Carmelo Pace, Massenet, and Schubert. The performance event was held on the 6th of September, 1972, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta.
