| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and the International Women's Year Committee present the programme for a concert performed by the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut, led by George Spiteri, and starring singers Mary Rose Mallia, Andrew Sapiano, and Marie Thérèse Vassallo. The concert also starred pianist Jane Cassar, and featured percussionist Alex Grech and pianist Lina Galea. The event, which celebrated the inauguration of the 1975 International Women's Year, also featured some ballet performances starring Tanya Bayona. The concert was presented by Charles Arrigo, and featured the musical works of Charles Camilleri, Frank Vassallo, Suppé, Saint-Saëns, Schubert, Mascagni, Verdi, and Coleridge-Taylor. The performance was held on the 27th of April, 1975, at Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
