| Abstract: | This presentation discusses the wellbeing of people in Malta in Japan, starting with an economic account of wellbeing over time (via Gross Domestic Product), proceeding to an objective states account of wellbeing (examining the Human Development Index, the Sustainable Development Goals as well as various indicators like health, governance, material conditions) and finally focusing on subjective wellbeing (examining emotions and Life Evaluation). It concludes with a discussion of the caveats and the implications of such insights for policy makers and for the people of Malta and Japan. |
