Abstract: Manoel Theatre, in association with Air Malta Company Limited (and Gozo Channel Company Ltd.), presents the programme for a performance of the 1-act opera "Cavalleria Rusticana", composed by Pietro Mascagni, alongside a concert performance of arias from various well known operas. The event was directed and produced by Ronald V. Abdilla, and performed by the Manoel Theatre Opera Company, with the additional participation of the Manoel Theatre Orchestra (led by George Spiteri), and the Manoel Theatre Choir. The concert part of the performance was conducted by Mro. Joseph Vella, and featured the musical operatic works of Verdi, Cilèa, Rossini, Massenet, and Bellini. The performance event was held on the 25th and the 26th of February, 1984, at the Manoel theatre, in Valletta. It was also held on the 3rd of March, 1984, at the Aurora Theatre, in Gozo.
Description: Two copies of programme included, one for performances at Manoel Theatre in February with performers' signatures, and the other for performance at Aurora Theatre (Gozo) on 3rd March without signatures. Both programmes include list of featured music in the operatic concert including composers and their operas, list of cast for "Cavalleria Rusticana", director's note on "Cavalleria Rusticana" written by producer/director R. V. Abdilla, pictures of conductor Mro. Joseph Vella and featured singers Antoinette Miggiani, Marie Thérèse Vassallo, Andrew Sapiano, Joe Fenech, Phyllis Bajada Abram, Rosabelle Pavia, Joseph Huber, Lino Attard and Joe Vella Bondin, lists of female and male members of the Manoel Theatre Choir, note on Manoel theatre's founder Grand Master Antonio Manoel De Vilhena, list of members of the Manoel Theatre Orchestra, picture of Manoel theatre's booking plan, list of crew from the Manoel Theatre, list of forthcoming events at the Manoel theatre, and essay on the Manoel Theatre Foyer.
