The work provides educational material as a resource pack aimed specifically at primary school teachers intending to carry out-of-classroom activities (fieldwork) at the Qawra-Dwejra area in Gozo. For safe and successful fieldwork the researcher conducted numerous site visits so as to: (1) Identify potential hazards at different times of the year, (2) Draw up a risk assessment plan, (3) Suggest precautions and controls to reduce risk, (4) Determine and locate the key site and, (5) Trial out the proposed activities for possible modification. The fieldwork experience tried to focus as much as possible on the enquiry approach but not neglecting 'traditional' methodology. Post and pre fieldwork activities included lesson plans as well as recommended resources. The completed work was given to three teachers for their evaluation and possible use. A list of appropriate literature useful for teachers doing the fieldwork was included.en_GB
