Abstract: | A talk organised in the Works in Progress Seminars Series about cookery books and Maltese national ideology. The talk is given by Elise Billiard Pisani. Cookery books can become powerful tools for promoting national ideology in the hands of some food amateurs. In this paper she will explain how popular gastronomy has become a subject of national pride and a large number of cookery books have constructed a particular image of Maltese food. |
