Abstract: At last! People have noticed that there is a waste problem. The question is, wilI all this awareness lead us any closer to a solution? Something like 600 trucks are entering Maghtab every day, 80 per cent of them carrying construction and demolition waste like rubble, stone, and chunks of demolished buildings. The rest come in carrying municipal or industrial waste, abattoir and health care waste, agricultural waste, port waste, seaweed, swill and every other imaginable residue from all type of producers' and consumers' activities.
