dc.description.abstractIl-belt ta’ Akri, jew San Jean d’Acre, fuq il-kosta tat-tramuntana tal-Palestina, bejn il-Golf ta’ Haifa u Rosh Hanikra (il-fruntiera bejn Israel u l-Libanu, magħrufa wkoll bħala s-“Sellum ta’ Tir”), kienet il-fortizza Kruċjata l-aktar importanti fl-Art Imqaddsa fil-perjodu ta’ wara l-waqgħa ta’ Ġerusalemm (1187-1291). Matul dan il-perjodu kien f ’din il-belt u port fortizza li baqa’ jeżisti r-Renju Latin ta’ Ġerusalemm, li kien biss preżenti f ’xi fortizzi fuq ilkosta tal-Feniċja (Tripli, Sidon, Tir) u tal-Palestina (Akri, Atlit jew il-Castrum Peregrinorum, Ċesarija Marittima, Tel Arsuf jew Apollonia, Ġaffa).en_GB
