This case study is an evaluation of the benefits and concerns regarding a school-based Educational Psychologist (EP). It explores the perceptions of school stakeholders: teachers, Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), parents and the EP. The study was carried out using focus groups consisting of teachers, LSAs and parents, and a personal interview with the school-based EP. A set of questions was designed, based on the literature. Results indicate that benefits were given more prominence than concerns; participants presented a more positive approach in favour of an EP-based at school. However, participants noted some situations that might influence the school system and were a source of concern. In line with the literature findings, there is similarity between the local context and schools in England, but the local context takes place in a different environment due to culture difference, the school system and the fact that our school-based EPs perform other roles, rather than that of an EP, as their main function. This case study may serve as an insight tool to individuals who are employing an in-house EP, as it presents an in-depth holistic approach to the subject.en_GB
