Abstract: | This study speculates on the content of young children's knowledge of the world and the way they construct meaning. It focuses specifically on a young girl's daily experiences, describing in accurate detail her ordinary activities and interact ions with people. The account shows how the experiences and environment that the child encounters in her early years have a significant effect on her cognitive development. It raises important issues about the cognitive capabilities of the young child's mind and their value for child care and education. |
