Abstract: | The general aim of this work is to research whether the teaching of sexual education in secondary schools is being given the importance that it should have when it comes to the developing adolescents involved. The reason behind this inquiry arises from the fact that presently, sexual education is first taught in Form 1 through Integrated Science, where the topic is taught through a scientific approach and then introduced from the moral aspect in Form 3 through Religious Education and again through PSD in the same year. I will embark on a bibliographical research about how one should teach sexuality from the pedagogical point of view and the implications this has and what one should keep in mind. I will also collect primary data through interviews with teachers of their respective field int his subject. I will research this issue by studying how this may affect the different attitudes that student might get because of the different ages at which each perspective of sexuality is transmitted to the students. The results of my research will make me able to determine if the present system of teaching sex education is adequate or not, while giving arguments for my conclusion. |
