| Abstract: | Despite technological advances in other means of transport, the ship remains the major means of carrying world trade. This is most true when one considers trade in terms of volume, but it is also true to a lesser extent in terms of value. We are presently in the middle of a drive for technological progress in the shipping industry and this has given rise to a wide variety of ways to transport and means to transport engaged in international trade. |
