Abstract: This paper presents a project related to the production of a textbook aimed at teaching Maltese as foreign language (FL), with the objective of introducing the Maltese language to linguistically and.culturally diverse learners using a pluralistic approach. For this reason, descriptors from the Framework of Reference for Pluralistic Approaches (Candelier et al. 2012) were included in the textbook as a recognition of the plurilingual realities of the classroom participants while positioning them as meaningful linguistic resources during lessons. This approach was successful with adult learners of Maltese as a FL.
