Abstract: | In the fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries Petrarch's influence throughout Europe had been great; he was seen as a Christian humanist, whose concern was with the development of the human personality in accordance with the wisdom of the ancients and within the framework of the Christian religion. É con queste parole che Leonard Forster introduce l'argomento sull' arentino e sul petrarchismo visto come una corrente con delle specifiche convenzioni che hanno avuto origine dalle poesie del Petrarca, diffondendosi poi per tutta Europa. Come dice Richard Waswo nell'articolo The Petrarchan Tradition as a Dialectic of Limits, l'aggettivo 'petrarchismo' nella sua apparente semplicità ha un significato molto esteso. |
