dc.description.abstractThe heat current in an 1-dimensional system consisting of a lattice of quantum oscillators coupled with two thermal heat baths at opposite ends is analysed, with particular reference to the validity of Fourier's Law of Heat Conduction. Analytical solutions for the heat current are provided under certain restrictions such as the Born-Markov approximation, where the coupling between reservoirs and system is weak, and the bath interactions described by a master equation given in Lindblad form. Numerical evaluation and graphical representations of these quantities for selected parameters allows a comparison with Fourier's Law, as well as with earlier works on heat transport in chains of harmonic oscillators.en_GB
