Abstract: | Chapter I, to which we give the title "Importance of Religion in Life" shows the necessity of knowing God; it assures that religion alone makes clear for man all that regards the eternal destiny of his soul. It explains how religion guarantees courage and happiness and how it is the cause of liberty and progress. It also points out that religion is the basis of union and order in the home, in the school, in the government and in society. Chapter II, "Importance of Religious Instruction in School," studies the noble aim which underlines Christian education. We see how much a child needs to be educated and how religious instruction is at the core of a sound education. We study the nature, function and growth of instinct, emotion and imagination. The way for the training of these lower elements lies in their guidance according to a rational plan of life [...]. |
