Chapter one is my introduction. Here I have given a brief overview of what my work will deal with and how it is going to be divided. My second chapter, which I have called LEARNING AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION, deals with the definition of learning and with certain factors and conditions that promote learning. Among this, I have included the goal towards which one is striving and the length and space of the practical session, always keeping in mind that each child is a unique individual. I have also shown the relevance of four major learning theories towards Physical Education. These theories are The Conditional Response Theory, The Association Theory, The Field or Gestaldt Theory and The Transfer of Training Theory. In chapter three, called PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND HOLISTIC EDUCATION, I have shown the value and importance of Physical Education and its contribution in the whole concept of educating the child. The last chapter deals with the objectives of a Physical Education syllabus whereby skill development in all the facets of Physical Education is given its due importance. I have also included a sample Physical Education lesson with Jean Piaget prepared by the Physical Education section of the Education Department. In my conclusion, I have stated why I am convinced about the value and importance of Physical Education in the learning process.en_GB
