| Abstract: | The collection and safeguarding of the Customs Duties in Malta are the responsibilities of the Customs and Port Department which falls with the Ministry of Finance, Customs and Port. The department besides other responsibilities relating to Port administration which will not be considered here, has two kinds of taxes under its control - the Import Duties and the Excise Duties. The functions carried out by the Department have long been features of Government administration in Malta. |
