This forms part of an ongoing research programme which was initiated by the Group in June 1993. These measurements constitute a digitised set of measurements of various meteo parameters (including wind, air temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity and heat flus) and marine parameters (sea level and sea temperature). From these stations, data is acquired at one-minute sampling intervals in order to study local changes across the full spectrum of time scales. Currently, seven meteo stations and four sea level stations are installed around the coast of the Maltese Islands. These stations form part of a wider network of stations, the PORTO Network which includes four other stations on the southern coast of Sicily.
