dc.description.abstractAndrea Chénier è un verismo opera in quattro atti di Umberto Giordano, su libretto italiano di Luigi Illica, e rappresentata per la prima volta il 28 marzo 1896 alla Scala di Milano. La storia è vagamente basata sulla vita del poeta francese André Chénier (1762–1794), giustiziato durante la Rivoluzione francese. Andrea Chénier è un poeta, cresciuto nel lusso, ma scontento della disuguaglianza sociale che lo circonda. Quest'opera è un'appassionata storia d'amore ambientata sullo sfondo dei turbolenti eventi della vita reale della Rivoluzione francese. ​en_GB
