| Abstract: | The Manoel Theatre Orchestra presents the programme for their vocal and instrumental concert, conducted by Mro. Joseph Sammut, led by George Spiteri, and starring soprano Hilda Mallia Tabone and tenor Andrew Sapiano. The concert featured the musical works of Dun Karm Psaila, Carmelo Pace, Verdi, Mascagni, and Tchaikovsky. The concert was held in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the first performance of Dun Karm's "Innu Malti" (the Maltese National Anthem), which was originally performed in the Manoel theatre on the 3rd of February, 1923. The commemorative performance was held on the 3rd of February, 1973, at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta. |
