| Abstract: | Manoel Theatre and Valletta Dramatic Company (V.D.C.) presents the programme for the operetta "Scugnizza", written by Carlo Lombardo, with music composed by Mario Costa, adapted to Maltese by Joe Brincat with a new musical arrangement by Twanny Chircop, and directed by George Micallef. The operetta featured an orchestra conducted by Archibald Mizzi. The operetta also featured choreography created by Doreen Fenech, which was performed by the dancers from the YADA Dance Company. The performance was held from the 13th till the 15th of January, 1989, at the Manoel Theatre, in Valletta. |
| Description: | Two copies of programme included, one with performers'/crews' signatures, and the other without. Both programmes include lists of cast, chorus members and dancers, note of acknowledgements from V.D.C., list of crew from V.D.C., list of crew from Manoel Theatre, list of Orchestra members, photos of actors George Micallef, Carmen Vella, Robert Scalpello, Mary Galea, Joe Attard and Vitorin Galea, essay on operetta possibly written by Tony Cassar Darien, photos relating to previous operetta productions by V.D.C. of "Cin Ci Là" (1987) and "Il Paese Dei Campanelli" (1988), and list of acknowledgements from the Manoel Theatre Management Committee.
